TCSR District Participants

In the fall of 2009, Edvance Research convened a meeting of several school districts from across Texas to discuss potential interest in establishing an education research consortium dedicated to helping solve problems of practice—in particular College and Career Readiness. Eighteen districts participated in this inaugural meeting and response to the Texas Consortium on School Research was overwhelmingly positive.

More than thirty districts, and charter schools participate in the Texas Consortium on School Research, which serves more than 1.7 million students or approximately 37% of students in Texas and it continues to grow.

Here is what districts are saying about TCSR:

“Fort Worth ISD is thrilled to participate in the Texas Consortium on School Research. This is an exciting opportunity to increase collaboration between practitioners in districts and researchers to leverage and share education research efforts, analyses, findings, and best practices relevant to Texas as we all move more strategically toward common goals like increasing career and college readiness”.

Sara Arispe
Executive Director of Accountability and Data Quality
Fort Worth Independent School District

“The Texas Consortium on School Research is an excellent partner for school districts. The information learned from TCSR benefits El Paso Independent School District by creating strategies that increase the number of students that will graduate from college. The information presented by educators and researchers in TCSR meetings is a catalyst for our strategic planning on college readiness. Our current focus is collaboration with TCSR on studying persistence in college as it relates to several variables including course grades in high school, norm & criteria -referenced test data, reading levels, and the academic rigor of the receiving colleges. El Paso Independent School District has benefitted from a partnership with TCSR and will continue to attend TCSR meetings. EPISD intends to contribute thought leadership in collaborating on research topics with TCSR and school districts across the state and region.”
